Kitchen Upgrade In Solid Maple with Birdseye Door Panels

This was definitely a labor of love for both B&V Crafts and the client. The project started off as a quote to upgrade cabinets and doors and eventually blossomed into an extensive project utilizing upscale woods and fine joinery to produce a lavish, modern kitchen. The client provided  the installation work. B&V Crafts provided guidance and help but it was truly the customer's labor that kept costs down.

We were able begin saving money by using the original boxes from the outdated dark stained oak cabinet system made from solid birch plywood. Still as solid as the day they were installed, the client removed the old face frames and doors, sanded the boxes and painted the interiors. B&V Crafts made solid maple face frames for all the cabinets and 23 solid maple doors with birdseye maple panels. Eight drawers were constructed from solid maple with solid birdseye front pieces. A new box had to be constructed to accommodate the new microwave installed over the stove. Two small cabinets were added flanking the microwave. Solid wood end caps were constructed to round out the cabinet work. To wrap up the construction, a 48"x10"x26" solid maple radiator cover was designed and built  to camouflage the radiator.

This  turned out to be an upscale, high end kitchen for the cost of an off the shelf remodel. The customer also scouted out the best buy and provided the door and drawer hardware, new counter tops, floor refinishing, and did a lot of the tile work. A hell of a job! And the effort was repaid ten fold in an extraordinarily beautiful kitchen. Look over the pictures, think about your kitchen and give us a call. We are always happy to sit down with you and discuss your project and how we can save you money and provide your custom designed and built remodel. B&V Crafts works with you and what you want, nothing is preconceived or packaged.

Kitchen Upgrade

This upgrade was done for a young couple on a budget. Sometimes all a kitchen needs to look new and fresh is door replacement. The old kitchen cabinets were dark stained oak reminiscent of the style in the mid 1970s. Working with the customer we removed the old doors and constructed 28 new solid maple flat panel doors with Euro-style, cupped, hidden hinges. The client primed and refinished the existing cabinet boxes and we constructed, finished and installed the new doors. Doors above the main counter were paneled in glacier glass. The cost of the door upgrade was $1,600 which included installation. Give us a call for current prices and availability.
